New York Film Festival
As one of the most important film festivals in the United States, the New York Film Festival has been held in New York since 1962. The event, held by the Film Society of Lincoln Center, screens both U.S. and international films for 17 days.
There is no prize awarded to films in the festival, instead it is just an honor to get chosen to have a film be a part of the event. It is highly competitive application process as only on average 28 feature films and 12 short films are selected each year.
The main theater used for the festival is the Walter Reade Theater at the Lincoln Center.
