TriBeCa Film Festival
Started by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff in response to the World Trade Center attacks as a way to help economically Lower Manhattan, the TriBeCa Film Festival has grown into one of the most respected and highly anticipated film festival in the world. No small feat considering it just celebrated its sixth showcase.
At the festival, films from the United States and abroad screen during its 12-day run. Filmmakers and actors often make appearances at discussion panels, while parties are the norm after many of the screenings. The festival is centered in TriBeCa, but event take place all throughout Manhattan.
The festival starts in late April, spilling over into early May. Tickets for each screening are sold individually and range from $14-$25 dollars depending on which film and the time. The cost to attend a discussion panel is $25.
